Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g cheese (Harzer cheese)
  • 400 g sheep’s cheese
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 100 g onion(s), red
  • 200 g onion(s), white
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 2 peppers
  • ¾ liter of oil
  • 1 ½ tbsp vinegar essence

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 3 days; Total time approx. 3 days 20 minutes

Divide the Harzer cheese into slices, dice the sheep’s cheese, and slice the garlic and onions into rings. Strip the parsley from the stems. Layer all ingredients with caraway seeds and chili peppers in a lidded jar. Mix the oil and vinegar well, then pour over the cheese, ensuring it is completely covered. Cover the jar and refrigerate for 2-3 days. Serve with hearty farmhouse bread.
