Chicken thighs in beer sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp Szechuan pepper
  • Salt
  • 500 ml lager beer
  • olive oil
  • some parsley, flat-leaf

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic. Add a little olive oil to a pan and fry the onion and garlic until translucent. Add the chicken thighs and fry until golden brown on all sides. Crush the Szechuan peppercorns and salt in a mortar and pestle and season the thighs with them. Deglaze with half of the beer, cover, and simmer for about 40 minutes. Pour in the remaining beer and bring to a boil briefly. Finely slice the parsley and scatter over the top. Arrange on plates and serve immediately.
