Sweet and spicy tomato ketchup

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 400 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 4 tbsp forest honey
  • 2 tsp ajvar
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • 3 tbsp chives, fresh, alternatively frozen
  • e.g. chili flakes
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

with honey and chives

Combine tomatoes, honey, and ajvar with the cumin in a saucepan and simmer until thickened. Add the chives and season with salt and chili flakes. Fill a glass jar with boiling water, let it sit briefly, and then pat dry. Pour the ketchup into the prepared jar. Store in a cool, dark place. The ketchup goes well with raclette, fondue, or grilled meat.
