Pickling asparagus

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 kg asparagus
  • 2 liters of water
  • 2 tsp, leveled salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Carefully peel the asparagus and generously trim off any woody ends. Cut into 3-4 cm pieces. Place in a bowl, pour boiling water over it, and let stand for 10 minutes. Then fill the asparagus into prepared jars. Boil 2 liters of water with the salt and pour over the asparagus. Seal the jars and cook the asparagus for about 1 hour at 100°C. If you don’t have a preserving pan, you can do this in the oven as follows: Place the tray on the lowest rack and fill it with about 1 cm of water. Place the jars on top (careful: the jars must not touch!) and cook as described above.
