Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 5 kg stewed cucumber(s), yellow thick
  • 1 liter white wine vinegar
  • 1 kg sugar
  • 5 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 20 carnations
  • 2 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • Water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours 45 minutes

Peel the cucumbers, halve them, and then deseed them with a large spoon. Then cut the cucumbers into thin strips. Add the 2 tablespoons of vinegar to approximately 1 liter of water. Let the cucumber strips soak in this vinegar-water mixture for 3 to 4 hours. Drain. Bring the wine vinegar, sugar, and spices to a boil and simmer the drained cucumber strips until translucent. Once the cucumbers are ready, they can be stored in a small stone pot or filled into small screw-top jars while still hot.
