Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 500 g asparagus
- 100g bacon
- Pinch(s) of salt and pepper
- some butter
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
in baking paper
Peel the white asparagus (green asparagus does not need to be peeled) and wrap it in bacon, if desired. Brush or spread a little butter on the areas without bacon. Place the asparagus on a sheet of baking paper so that it can be easily wrapped. Fold the edge of the paper so that the parcel is well sealed. Place the parcel on a baking tray. Depending on the desired consistency, steam for 20-30 minutes on the middle rack of an oven preheated to 180°C (top/bottom heat). For particularly thick asparagus, it can take up to 45 minutes; just test it halfway through. You can simply insert a toothpick through the baking paper without having to open the whole thing. When the asparagus is ready, you can open the baking paper. Be careful of the hot steam! Season with salt and pepper if desired. If desired, you can also refine it with hollandaise sauce. Please use baking paper and not aluminum foil, as you never know how much aluminum will transfer to the vegetables.
