Homemade crunchy crunchy muesli

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g oat flakes, wholegrain
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 55 g butter
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup, apple sweetness
  • 80 ml water
  • 4 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 150 g cranberries
  • 4 tbsp pecans
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

vegan option also available

Heat the butter, honey, and water until the butter has dissolved. Mix the ingredients and spread on a baking sheet. Roast the mixture in the oven at 160°C (convection oven) for about 25 minutes, until the muesli is golden brown. This is important because the water cannot escape with top and bottom heat. Leave the oven door slightly ajar. Stir the mixture about every 10 minutes and make sure the edges don’t get too brown. Allow the crunchy muesli to cool and store in an airtight container. It also makes a great gift in a pretty glass jar. Vegan alternatives for the muesli: use vegan plant-based margarine instead of butter, and agave syrup or just maple syrup instead of honey. The ingredients are interchangeable. Cashews, sesame seeds, amaranth, flaxseeds, and pumpkin seeds also taste good.
