Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 450 g apples, e.g. Boskoop
  • 150 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 100 g brown sugar (you can use up to 150 g)
  • 2 tbsp gingerbread spice
  • 1 orange(s), organic, juice and grated peel
  • 500 g dried fruit e.g. pears, apricots, figs

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Peel, core, and finely chop the apples. Cut the dried fruit and apple into pieces and place them in a saucepan with the orange zest and juice, gingerbread spice, vinegar, and sugar. Heat gently. Once the sugar has dissolved, bring to a boil and simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring constantly. While still hot, pour into clean jars, seal, and let steep for about 1 month.
