Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 ml milk
  • 250 g wheat flour
  • ½ cube of yeast
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Fat for frying
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Dissolve the yeast in about 100 ml of warmed milk and let it rest in a warm place for about 10 minutes. In the meantime, beat the egg yolks and the remaining lukewarm milk until frothy. Stir in the flour, salt, and yeast mixture. Cover and let the mixture rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the mixture (do not stir vigorously). Then grease the wells of the pan, filling each one to the brim, and bake until golden brown. Turn with a fork and bake on the other side. While still warm, coat in powdered sugar.
