Apricot liqueur made from dried fruits

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 ml water
  • 900 g sugar
  • 1,000 g dried apricot(s)
  • 400 ml vodka (40% vol.)
  • 400 ml brandy
  • 1 orange(s), peel
  • 2 tsp ascorbic acid
  • 10 drops of food coloring, yellow
  • 4 drops of food coloring, red

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Boil the water and sugar, stirring constantly, until the syrup is clear. Allow the syrup to cool. Cut the apricots into pieces and place them in a suitable container (4 liters) with a tight-fitting lid. Pour the syrup over the apricots and add the other ingredients. Close the lid tightly and let stand in a cool, dark place for one month. Then decant the liqueur into bottles or jars, or filter. Makes approximately 2 liters. TIP: Don’t throw away the fruit! Use it to stuff poultry, sprinkle it on ice, incorporate it into sponge cakes, etc.
