Christmas Advent muffins or clafoutis

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g butter
  • 120 g sugar
  • 300 g sour cream
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 apple, e.g. Boskoop
  • 250 g flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp clove powder
  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 100 g walnuts, chopped
  • 75 g powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

With apples, walnuts and cinnamon

Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy, add the egg, add the sour cream, and continue mixing. Grate the apple and add it (you can squeeze a little lemon juice into the apple if you like to prevent it from discoloring). Mix the flour, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, and baking soda and stir into the batter a spoonful at a time. Finally, stir in 60g of walnuts (reserve the rest for decoration). I divided the recipe into 24 clafoutis (small muffin tins) and 6 muffins. The small clafoutis are easier to snack on on a Christmas plate. You can also make 18 muffins out of them. Pour the batter into the baking cups. Preheat the oven (top/bottom heat) to 180°C and bake for about 25 minutes. Glaze: Mix together the powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and water. Let the muffins cool slightly and then cover with the cinnamon glaze. Spread the remaining walnuts on the still moist muffins.
