- 5 tbsp Cointreau
- 100 g powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp oil for the mold
- 1 tbsp breadcrumbs for the form
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 55 minutes
Mix the butter, eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar in a mixer or food processor for 2 minutes until creamy. Wash the orange in hot water, dry it, and then grate the entire orange. Mix this with the flour, baking powder, and salt and add to the egg mixture. Add 4 tablespoons of Cointreau and mix for another 2 minutes until a smooth batter forms. Brush the springform pan with oil and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Pour in the cake batter and bake on the bottom rack of an oven preheated to 175°C (top/bottom heat) for about 40-45 minutes. For the glaze, squeeze the orange. Mix 1 tablespoon of orange juice with 1 tablespoon of Cointreau and add enough powdered sugar to form a thick mixture. Cover the cooled cake with the orange-Cointreau glaze.
