Ingredients for 60 servings:

  • 190 g butter, soft
  • 100 g syrup (maple syrup)
  • 50 g honey
  • ½ tbsp ammonium bicarbonate (or 1/2 packet baking powder)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 350 g flour
  • 25 g almonds, chopped
  • 1 pinch of clove(s), allspice, cardamom, ground
  • 1 pinch of ginger
  • 1 egg(s), of which the egg white
  • 50 g brown sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes

Knead all ingredients. Form two 3.5 cm thick rolls and chill. Brush with beaten egg white, coat in brown sugar, cut into 4 mm thick slices, and bake on baking sheets lined with baking paper at 180-200 degrees Celsius for 12-15 minutes.
