Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 m.-sized eggs
  • 150 g sugar
  • 100 ml oil
  • 250 g flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 150 ml buttermilk
  • 1 large apple
  • Fat, for the shape

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

with buttermilk

Grease a 25-30 cm loaf pan. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Beat the eggs until frothy, then add the sugar, then the vanilla sugar and beat the mixture until creamy. Then stir in the oil and buttermilk. Combine the flour and baking powder and stir in. Pour about half of the batter into the pan. Slice the peeled apple and place it on top of the batter. Pour the remaining batter over the top and smooth it down. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes. After 15 minutes of baking, score the cake lengthwise with a sharp knife. This will help the cake rise evenly and give it a nice, even crack.
