Cheesy Chocolate Muffins

Ingredients for 12 servings:

  • 100 g chocolate (block chocolate)
  • 50 g butter, soft
  • 200 g double cream cheese
  • ½ tsp flavoring (finesse orange fruit)
  • 60 g sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 eggs
  • 140 g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 120 g flour (wheat flour)
  • 1 tsp baking powder, level
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

To prepare, chop the chocolate into pieces and mix it in a small saucepan over low heat in a double boiler until smooth. Stir in the butter until melted. Let the chocolate-butter mixture cool slightly. For the cheesecake, mix the cream cheese, orange zest, sugar, and 1 egg well. For the dough, put the eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar in a mixing bowl and beat with a hand mixer on high until smooth. Stir in the chocolate-butter mixture. Mix the flour with the baking powder and salt, sift, and mix in portions on medium speed. Pour the batter into a muffin tin (for 12 muffins, well greased and floured). Spread the cheesecake on top. Use a fork to make 2-3 spirals through the dough to create a marbled pattern. Place the tin on a rack in the oven. Top/bottom heat: approximately 180°C (preheated) Fan oven: approximately 160°C (preheated) Gas mark 2-3 (preheated) Baking time: approximately 30 minutes. Let the muffins stand in the tin for 10 minutes, then carefully remove them from the tin and let them cool on a wire rack.
