Homemade oat milk

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 7 cups water
  • 1 tbsp sugar or honey
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

lactose-free

Make gruel by combining one cup of oats with two cups of water, the honey or sugar, and a pinch of salt. Then, using a hand blender and another three cups of water, process the gruel until it reaches a good consistency. If you don’t like lumps in your milk, you can press the milk through a tea towel to remove any remaining oat bran. Pour the remaining two cups of water over the milk, pour into bottles or glasses, and enjoy! Tip: I personally prefer it cold. Oat milk is not suitable for cooking and is not gluten-free. Rice milk, for example, is gluten-free. Those who want to use cane sugar should note that cane sugar is not as sweet as regular sugar, so make sure you use more accordingly.
