Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 6 eggs
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- ½ lemon(s), grated peel
- 200 g poppy seeds, ground
- 110 g walnuts, grated
- 4 apples, sour
- ½ lemon(s), the juice
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Peel the apple, cut it into thin slices, and drizzle with lemon juice. Beat the egg yolks with 1/3 of the sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt until very foamy. Beat the egg whites with the remaining sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold the yolk mixture into the beaten egg whites, then fold in the nuts, poppy seeds, apples, and lemon zest. Pour the mixture into a greased pan and bake at 170°C (350°F) for 50 minutes.
