  • salt and pepper
  • 200 g bacon, diced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • some water

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

similar to Bolognese, slightly sweet

First, sear the ground beef in a large pot or deep frying pan. Then transfer the meat to a deep plate and set aside. Dice the carrots and caramelize them lightly in a little oil and sugar. Once the carrots have taken on some color, add the onion (also diced) until slightly translucent. Only then fry the garlic for a short time. Then add the ground beef and mix everything together. Now add the tomato ketchup. Rinse the bottle with a little water and add it as well. Season everything with pepper, salt, and Provençal herbs, add the bay leaves, and cook at the lowest temperature for about 20-30 minutes. This goes well with any type of pasta with a little grated Parmesan cheese. Tips: It’s best to prepare this the night before so that the herbs and bay leaves can infuse. It can also be used as the base for a delicious lasagna.
