Ingredients for 12 servings:
- 200 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch of salt
- 100 g butter
- 100 g sugar
- 1 packet of vanilla sugar
- 1 egg(s)
- 8 small apples
- 2 packs of pudding powder, vanilla
- 250 ml milk
- 750 ml cream
- 4 tbsp almonds, flaked
- 2 eggs, including the yolk
Instructions
Working time approx. 50 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 50 minutes
Mix flour with baking powder, a pinch of salt, butter, 3 level tablespoons of sugar, vanilla sugar, and egg. Chill for about 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Peel apples and core them. Roll out the dough into a 30cm diameter circle and line a greased springform pan (26cm diameter) with it. Place the apples on top. Cook the custard powder, milk, cream, and remaining sugar according to the instructions. Remove from the heat, let cool slightly, and stir in the egg yolks. Spread the mixture over the apples. Sprinkle the cake with almonds and bake on the lowest oven shelf for about 60 minutes. Cover after about 50 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan.
