Pesto braid

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 140 g milk
  • 5 g salt
  • 500 g wheat flour type 550
  • 30 g sugar
  • 50 g margarine
  • 20 g yeast
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 jar pesto

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

First, heat the milk to approximately 40°C. Meanwhile, place all the other ingredients in a bowl. Once the milk is warm, add it to the other ingredients and mix everything into a smooth dough. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 to 60 minutes, until it has noticeably increased in size. After the rising time, place the dough on a work surface and shape it into a rectangle. Divide the rectangle into three equal pieces and roll each piece out lengthwise. Spread pesto over the dough strands. Roll these into long logs along the long side. Cut each strand in half lengthwise so that the inside opens out again. Press one end together slightly and then cross the strands together to form a braid. Repeat with all the other pieces and bake at 160°C for about 20 minutes until crispy. Have fun trying it! Naturally Delicious
