  • 2 tea bags, black
  • 3 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 1 cm vanilla pod(s)
  • 7 carnations
  • 2 star anise
  • 2 dashes lemon juice, if desired
  • 2 oranges (organic)
  • 1 shot of vodka or rum
  • 1 tbsp sugar, brown, if desired

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

easy to prepare and delicious

Bring the mulled punch (or apple and elderberry juice) to a boil in a saucepan, remove from the heat, and add the tea bags. Let it steep for 3 minutes, then remove the bags. Then, slit the vanilla pod lengthwise and place it in a tea strainer with the cloves and star anise. Add the red wine and cinnamon. Wash the oranges thoroughly, quarter them, slice them, and add them to the pan. If desired, add 1 or 2 squeezes of lemon juice and a little brown sugar. Then, the mulled wine should steep with the lid on for about 30-40 minutes over low heat! It’s important to keep to the time, as otherwise the spices will become too overpowering. Add the vodka and strain the spices before serving.
