Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 50 ml tomato ketchup
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 2 tbsp sugar, brown
- 1 tbsp vinegar (fruit vinegar)
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- some garlic salt
- some salt (onion salt)
- 1 pinch of peperoncini
- 4 pork chops or pork schnitzel
- e.g. salt and pepper
- 1 large onion(s), chopped
- 2 clove(s) garlic, chopped
- ½ cup(s) water
- 1 cup(s) pineapple, cut into small pieces
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
In a small saucepan, combine the first 8 ingredients and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes. Set aside. Season the meat with salt and pepper and lightly brown it in a little oil. Add the onions and garlic and fry. Deglaze with the water and the prepared sauce and simmer with the lid on for about 25 minutes. Just before serving, stir in the pineapple pieces and heat for another 5 minutes. Serve with rice. This recipe is from an American cookbook, hence the cup measurements. Simply use a regular-sized coffee mug.
