Lazy Bean Stew (green)

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 800 g beans, green (for this recipe from the can / drained weight
  • 800 g potatoes, diced
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • Oil / margarine for frying
  • 1 ½ cubes of stock
  • ½ tsp lovage (ground)
  • 1 tsp savory, (more if you like!)
  • 500 ml water
  • 500 ml milk
  • 2 tbsp soup greens (dried)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Dice the onion and fry in oil or margarine until golden brown. Add the canned green beans (approx. 800g drained weight) and diced potatoes to the pot. Add the dried soup vegetables, stir everything together, and season with ground lovage and dried savory. Then deglaze with 500ml water and 500ml milk. Add the stock cube to the soup and simmer for about 30 minutes. When the potatoes are soft, mash the mixture into a thick slurry or puree it with a hand blender. Finally, season to taste and add more seasoning if necessary. Lightly toasted slices of Mettwurst sausage are delicious with this; they are briefly fried in a pan and added to the stew. The whole thing tastes best when reheated!!! The dish is then much more intense, as everything is well-infused. This is a recipe for quick cooking! You can also enhance it with fresh ingredients!
