Chicken in the hay

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 roast chickens
  • 2 handfuls of hay, untreated, from the pet store
  • 40 g butter
  • 1 tbsp paprika powder
  • pepper
  • rosemary
  • Ginger
  • chili
  • turmeric
  • Allspice
  • coriander

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

from the oven

Cut the chickens in half, rinse, and pat dry. Line a baking sheet with hay and spray with water. Place the chicken halves on top. Melt the butter in a pan or microwave until melted. Brush the chicken halves with the butter. Preheat the oven to 200°C, place the baking sheet in the oven, and bake for 30 minutes. Spray the hay with water again and brush the chickens with the seasoned butter again. Reduce the oven temperature to 180°C and bake for another 20 minutes. Serve with fries and salad.
