Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 1 pack of turkey liver (frozen)
- 1 apple (any variety)
- 1 large onion(s) (or 2 small ones)
- some margarine or clarified butter
- Salt
- pepper
- Flour
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes
Thaw the turkey liver completely, remove any fat or tendons, season with salt and pepper, and coat in flour. Heat the fat (in this case, I prefer margarine or clarified butter to oil for once) in a pan and fry the liver over high heat on all sides until it’s a bit crispy on the outside. I always fry the liver all the way through, but you can also serve it pink. Be careful, the liver splatters a lot in the hot pan! I use a sieve over the pan to prevent this. In the meantime, peel the onion and cut into large cubes or half rings. Peel the apple, remove the core, and chop it finely. When the liver is almost cooked, add the onion and cook until translucent. At the very end, add the apple pieces for 1-2 minutes. Serve with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes and red cabbage (especially apple red cabbage).
