Ingredients for 24 servings:
- 10 m.-sized eggs, separated
- 200 g butter
- 200 g sugar
- 200 g flour
- 200 g powdered sugar
- 200 g hazelnuts, ground
- 100 g chocolate sprinkles
- 200 g dark chocolate coating
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour
Mix the egg yolks with the sugar, butter, and flour thoroughly. Spread the batter onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Preheat oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). For the topping, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold the icing sugar, hazelnuts, and chocolate shavings into the beaten egg whites with a wooden spoon until well blended. Spread the topping over the batter and smooth it down. Place the baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven and bake the cake for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and cut into triangles. Melt the chocolate coating in a water bath and dip the nut wedges in it on each side.
