Aunt Klärchen's almond cookies

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g butter
  • 500 g flour
  • 2 m.-sized eggs
  • 375 g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda (or baking powder)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of clove powder
  • 300 g almonds, peeled, whole

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 20 minutes

Make a shortcrust pastry from butter, flour, eggs, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and cloves. Finally, knead in the whole almonds by hand. Shape the dough into logs and refrigerate for at least 12 hours. Then, using an electric knife if possible, cut into approximately 1 cm thick slices and bake the cookies on baking paper at 175°C (350°F) for about 12 minutes.
