Elderberry rum liqueur

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 bottles of rum, brown, preferably strong
  • 500 g rock candy
  • 2 liters of juice (elderberry juice)
  • 5 packs of vanilla sugar
  • 2 drops flavoring, almond

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Combine elderberry juice and rock candy in a saucepan and heat over medium heat, melting the rock candy in it. Then add the almond extract and vanilla sugar. Turn off the heat and remove the pan from the heat. Pour the rum into the pan, return the pan to the warm stovetop, but DO NOT let it boil. Let it cool and bottle. Let it steep for a few days/weeks, depending on your taste.
