Tomato and basil rice

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1 cup tomato sauce with chunks
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp basil, dried
  • ½ cube vegetable stock cube
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • some butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the basmati rice, and let it soften. Pour in the tomato sauce and water. Season with salt, sugar, basil, and the stock cube and simmer over low heat until the water is absorbed. Reduce the heat and let the rice steam off.
