Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 125 g butter
- 175 g flour, sifted
- 75 g sugar (lavender sugar – see below, during preparation)
- 1 tsp lavender flowers, dried and finely chopped
- 2 drops of vanilla flavor, liquid
- 50 g block chocolate
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
For the cookies, knead the butter and flour with your fingers. Add the lavender sugar, lavender blossoms, and vanilla drops and continue kneading the dough until it is nice and soft and elastic. Preheat the oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with baking paper. Roll out the dough on a floured surface, cut out the cookies using cookie cutters (or upturned mustard jars), and place them directly on the baking sheet. Bake the cookies in the oven for about 8-10 minutes until they are golden brown. Let the freshly baked cookies cool for 2 minutes, then cover them with the melted chocolate. You can also mix the melted chocolate into the dough before cutting out the cookies, but the dough must be refrigerated briefly for this. Tip: Seal 8-10 lavender blossoms (or more if you like) in a sugar jar for 2 weeks. The sugar will automatically absorb the lavender scent. The same principle works with small chocolate pearls.
