Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 g butter, soft
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 tsp, leveled salt
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp molasses, alternatively apple or pear syrup
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger powder

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 hours; Total time approx. 5 hours 30 minutes

Cream the softened butter with sugar and salt until fluffy. Gradually add the eggs, then the vanilla extract and molasses. Combine the flour with the baking powder, cinnamon, and ginger and fold into the egg and butter mixture. Stir everything together until a smooth dough forms. Chill the dough for a few hours (at least 5 hours). Roll out the dough thinly on a floured surface, cut out circles, and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Chill again for about 10 minutes. Bake at 160°C (320°F) until light brown.
