Wax beans in cream sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 jar beans (yellow wax beans)
  • 50 g butter
  • 50 g flour
  • 1 cup of cream
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • possibly lemon juice

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Drain the wax beans and reserve the juice from the jar. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the flour and stir until the resulting flour lump reaches the desired consistency. Deglaze the mixture with the bean juice and add the cream. Whisk vigorously until a thick sauce forms. Add a little milk, if desired. Deglaze with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. If desired, you can also season the vegetables with a squeeze of lemon juice.
