Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 can beans, white (giant beans)
  • 1 pack of dough (yufka dough)
  • 500 g minced beef
  • 500 g low-fat yogurt
  • 3 garlic cloves, squeezed
  • Pine nuts, roasted or
  • Pistachios
  • e.g. olive oil
  • pepper

Quick, delicious, and unusual! My Lebanese grandmother’s secret recipe

Mix the yogurt with the crushed garlic cloves. Roll the yufka dough into rolls and cut into strips with scissors. Fry the rolled strips in a little olive oil until golden brown. Brown the ground beef and season with pepper. In a bowl, first add a layer of broad beans, then 3/4 of the dough, 3/4 of the yogurt, and finally the ground beef. Spread the remaining dough and yogurt on top. Garnish with toasted pine nuts. It actually doesn’t need any salt! Variation: I sometimes use chopped pistachios instead of pine nuts.
