Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 rump steaks (150 – 250 g each)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp butter or margarine
  • Salt
  • Pepper, ground black
  • possibly horseradish
  • possibly herb butter or garlic butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Briefly rinse the steaks in cold water, dry them, and score the fat edge at short intervals down to the meat. Drizzle the steaks with a few drops of lemon juice. Heat the fat in a pan and add the steaks. Turn frequently, cooking each side for about 4 minutes, depending on how well they are done. Finally, season the steaks with salt and a little pepper. Tip: Spread 1 teaspoon of horseradish on each of the cooked rump steaks, or pile it up. Spread 1 to 2 small slices of herb or garlic butter on the cooked rump steaks. Serve with French fries and lemon wedges.
