Gnocchi with leaf spinach

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g leaf spinach (frozen)
  • 1 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 250 g processed cheese with herbs
  • 150 g cheese (Emmental, Gouda or gratin cheese)
  • 500 g gnocchi
  • 1 tsp salt
  • possibly garlic powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel and finely chop the onion. Remove the skin from two garlic cloves and add them to the pan (press lightly). In a large, lidded pan, thaw (cook) the spinach with the onion and garlic over medium heat. Add the gnocchi; they can absorb the excess water. Add the cream cheese and mix everything well. Remove the garlic cloves first, otherwise you won’t be able to find them again. When the gnocchi are soft enough, add the 150g of cheese so that everything combines well and melts. Season to taste with salt and a very finely crushed garlic clove. If desired, you can also use garlic powder. This keeps warm for longer and is great for a buffet.
