Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 6 apples
- 6 slice(s) puff pastry, square
- 1 packet of pudding powder (vanilla)
- 500 ml milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- Brittle (hazelnut brittle)
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes
First, make the vanilla pudding. Heat 500 ml of milk. Meanwhile, mix the custard powder with some of the milk and sugar. As soon as the milk boils, remove it from the heat. Add the custard powder and bring it back to a boil on the stovetop. Let the pudding cool slightly. Next, core the apples and hollow them out slightly. Leave the apples whole and only scrape out the insides from the top, for example, with a spoon. Then place the puff pastry sheets on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Place an apple on top and fill with the pudding. The pudding can overflow a little if you like. Sprinkle some hazelnut brittle over the top. Finally, wrap the apple in the puff pastry, meaning place the puff pastry over the apple and press the edges together nicely. Bake the whole thing in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 20-30 minutes. When the puff pastry turns light brown, it’s ready. Tip: The recipe can of course be varied with cinnamon, marzipan or almonds.
