Strawberry syrup simple
- 1 kg Strawberries, fresh (farm)
- 1 liter Water, filtered & piping hot
- 500 g Raw cane sugar
- 1 Sachets Citric acid
- 1 packet Preserving sugar (strawberry jam)
Strawberry syrup simple
- Clean the strawberries, sort them and, depending on the size, halve or quarter them. Put in a saucepan. Then pour / scald with filtered boiling water. Put the lid on and let it stand for about 20 minutes. Then put the whole thing in a sieve and collect the juice in another saucepan.
- Add raw cane sugar, citric acid & gelling sugar (strawberry jam) one after the other and stir well once. Then bring the whole thing to the boil while stirring and stir constantly, 2 minutes is bubbly simmering. If necessary, remove any foam that could be created.
- Then pour the strawberry syrup into large or several medium / small bottles, close and let cool.
