Hearty oatmeal casserole with apples

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g apples, sour and 1 extra apple
  • 75 g butter, soft
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 100 g sugar
  • 125 ml milk
  • 125 g oat flakes
  • 20 g cornstarch
  • 1 tsp, leveled baking powder
  • 3 Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel, core, and slice 250g apples. Whisk the butter with the egg yolks, sugar, milk, oats, cornstarch, and baking powder. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites and the apple pieces and transfer everything to a greased dish. Peel the last apple, core it, and slice it into rings. Top the casserole with the apples. Bake in a preheated oven for about 35 minutes at 200°C or gas mark 3-4. Serve with vanilla sauce.
