Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 100 g flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 100 ml milk, more if needed
  • 50 g sugar
  • 4 m.-sized eggs
  • 2 tbsp butter, liquid
  • 3 m.-sized apples
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Mix together the flour, salt, milk, and sugar. Separate the eggs, mix the egg yolks with the butter, and stir into the flour mixture to form a smooth batter (add a little more milk if needed). Let the batter rest for 30 minutes. Peel and core the apples, and cut them into thin slices. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold them into the batter along with the apple slices. Pour the batter into greased ovenproof ramekins. If serving as a dessert, pour into a large casserole dish for a main course. Bake in the oven at 220°C for 25 minutes (test with a skewer). Sprinkle with icing sugar and serve.
