Onion chips

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g onion(s), net
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

Spicy snacks

Line a baking tray with baking paper. Preheat oven to 100 degrees fan-assisted oven. Grate the onions and place them side by side on the baking paper; this makes 1 tray. If you want the chips a little thicker, cut thin slices by hand from the amount specified above. Place the baking tray on the middle rack in the oven. Wedge a wooden spoon handle in the door so that the oven is not completely closed. After 30 minutes, carefully remove the chips from the baking paper so they don’t stick and continue drying at 50 degrees. The chips will be dry after about 45 minutes; hand-cut ones will naturally take a little longer. The drying time can also vary depending on the oven. Remove the tray from the oven, pour the chips into a bowl, sprinkle with salt of your choice, and enjoy. As a test, I only used a small amount of onions; ultimately, I can say the experiment was successful.
