Recipe for fake cezerye (Turkish sweets)

Peel the carrots and coarsely grate them. Simmer them in a large pan with the sugar and water over low heat (do not use a mush) until the liquid has evaporated. Then add the crushed biscuits and chopped walnuts and knead the mixture thoroughly. If the mixture is still too wet, you can add breadcrumbs to achieve the right consistency. Let the mixture cool slightly until it’s easy to shape. Form them into small balls and then roll them in desiccated coconut. They also taste delicious chilled. The balls will keep for about 3 days, or about 1 week in the refrigerator.
