Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 10 g celery
- 180 g tomatoes
- 50 g carrot(s)
- 40 g onion(s)
- 60 g minced beef, lean
- ½ tsp dried oregano or other Italian herbs
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 1 pinch(s) of sugar
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Also possible in the Avent steamer
Wash the vegetables and peel if necessary. Chop the celery, carrots, and onions. Halve the tomatoes, remove the stems and seeds, and chop them up. Sauté the meat with the vegetables and herbs in a little water for about 15-20 minutes, but do not fry. The minced meat must be cooked through! Then add the tomato puree, tomato paste, and a pinch of sugar (to reduce the acidity) and puree with a hand blender until you get a smooth but still chunky Bolognese. I put everything, including the herbs, in the Avent steamer, add another 200 ml of water, and let it steam for 20 minutes. Then add the remaining ingredients and blend briefly using the blender function. Tip: For older children, you can also add a pinch of vegetable stock at the end. With small whole-wheat pasta, you have a complete meal that eliminates the need for store-bought jars. The rest is great for freezing. This way, you can also cook in advance. My son loves this dish.
