Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 2 m.-sized onion(s)
- 4 medium-sized garlic cloves
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp cane sugar, dark brown
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp sea salt
- ½ tsp cumin, ground
- ¼ tsp cinnamon powder
- 2 ½ kg boneless pork shoulder, room temperature
- 2 cup(s) sauce (barbecue sauce)
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 hours; Total time approx. 10 hours 10 minutes
Finely chop the onions and garlic and add them to a roasting pan with the chicken broth. Mix the sugar, chili powder, sea salt, cumin, and cinnamon. Pat the meat dry and rub it with the spice mixture. Place the meat in the roasting pan and bake at approximately 80-100°C for about 10 hours. Turn the meat over in the broth every hour. When the meat is done, shred it with two forks or your fingers and toss it with the barbecue sauce. Tastes great on a hamburger bun, for example, with coleslaw.
