Spaghetti with caper leaves

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500g spaghetti
  • 6 tomatoes
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • some olives
  • 15 caper leaves
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 100 ml olive oil
  • salt and pepper
  • oregano
  • 2 leaves basil, chopped
  • some olive oil for frying

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Simple and something different

Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until al dente. For the sauce, wash the tomatoes and cut them into small pieces along with the olives. Peel and chop the garlic, mix it with the tomato paste, and fry it in a little hot olive oil. Now add the tomatoes and fry briefly. Add the olive oil, caper leaves, basil, and olives, and simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Serve the sauce on plates with the spaghetti and hot.
