Sausage ragout with mustard sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 550 g Vienna sausages (also from a jar or can)
  • 4 onions
  • 30 g butter
  • 40 g flour
  • 350 ml milk
  • 3 tbsp mustard
  • salt and pepper
  • Broth, granulated
  • chives

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Uncomplicated and variable

Slice the sausages, peel and quarter the onions. Brown both in hot fat, then remove. Sprinkle flour into the fat and stir until lightly browned. Deglaze with the milk, bring to a boil, and stir in the mustard. Season with salt and pepper, adding granulated stock if desired. Return the sausage and onions. Sprinkle with chives and serve with potatoes, rice, or baguette. This dish can be extended with various vegetables, if desired.
