Potato and carrot gratin

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 600 g potatoes, peeled and weighed
  • 150 g carrot(s), peeled and weighed
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 180 g Gouda, grated
  • 200 g sweet cream
  • 1 tsp, leveled salt
  • 1 tsp, levelled black pepper from the mill
  • 1 pinch(s) nutmeg, freshly grated
  • some butter for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Lightly butter a 22 x 27 cm baking dish. Peel the potatoes and carrots and slice them into approximately 2-3 mm thick slices using a mandoline grater. Spread them in a single layer in the baking dish, fanning them out. Pour the cream into a shaker or a jar with a lid and add the spices. Peel the garlic clove and press it in. Shake gently to ensure everything is evenly distributed. Spread the seasoned cream evenly over the gratin. Sprinkle with the grated Gouda cheese and place on the middle rack of the preheated oven. Bake for approximately 50 minutes.
