"Lazy" port wine pear

Spread the love

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 1 can of pear(s)
  • ½ bottle of port wine
  • n. B. Carnation(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest period approx. 1 day; Total time approx. 1 day 5 minutes

Open the can of pears, drain the sugar water into a container, and refrigerate. Place the pears in a preserving jar and pour port wine over them until the pears are completely covered. Refrigerate the jar overnight and let it steep (add cloves if desired). The next day, drain the port wine (it’s still perfectly usable) and pour the sugar water over the pears. These will keep for some time in the refrigerator. The pears are delicious with salads and cheese, or even with raclette. Cut into small slices to serve.
