Broad beans with bacon

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g smoked streaky bacon
  • 1 sprig(s) savory
  • 750 g beans, thick from the jar
  • Salt
  • 2 onions
  • 6 tbsp lard
  • 4 tbsp flour
  • ½ liter cream

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cook the bacon and savory in lightly boiling salted water for about 20 minutes. Add the beans. Cook in the pressure cooker for about 20 minutes. Remove the bacon. Brown the finely diced onions in 4 tablespoons of lard and dust with flour. Pour in about 2 cups of bean water and cream and stir to combine. Slice the bacon and add. (Please note that the cooking time will be longer if you don’t use a pressure cooker.)
