Kohlrabi with Meatballs and Boiled Potatoes

The perfect kohlrabi with meatballs and boiled potatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 4 piece Kohlrabi fresh
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 1 kilogram Potatoes
  • 500 g Hacked
  • Butter
  • Flour
  • Milk
  • Oatmeal
  • 1 piece Egg
  • Rapeseed oil
  • Nutmeg
  • Mustard
  1. First cut the kohlrabi. Cut off the hard bottom generously, remove the stems and woody areas. Then cut the kohlrabi into pieces and boil in hot water for 20 minutes. Peel the potatoes and cook in salted water.
  2. Mix the minced meat with a good portion of oatmeal and a little water to make the meatballs extra soft and fluffy. Then season the whole thing with salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste. Peel and cut the onions and add to the minced meat. Add mustard and a beaten egg. Then form meatballs from the minced meat mixture and place in a hot, greased pan. Fry the meatballs on both sides for 5 minutes.
  3. Chop the kohlrabi leaves and add to the boiling potatoes. Bring the butter to the boil and stir in the flour until the mixture starts to bubble. Then add some of the potato and kohlrabi broth – the bechamel sauce for the kohlrabi is ready.
