Rice casserole with apples

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 375 g apples
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tbsp water
  • ¾ liter of milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 125 g rice pudding
  • ½ pack of pudding powder (vanilla flavor)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 6 tbsp water or milk
  • 5 drops flavoring (lemon oil)
  • 5 drops of rum flavoring

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 50 minutes

Steam the peeled apples with half the sugar (or a little less) and the water until tender. Cook the rice in the milk with the salt, then add it to the apples. Separate the eggs, add the egg yolks to the rice pudding with the custard powder, the remaining sugar, and the water or milk, and bring to a boil. Season with rum and lemon oil. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold in. Bake for 50-60 minutes at 180°C.
